Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Question Timeline (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated at https://questiontimeline.com, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and related services (the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Question Timeline is a web application that shows optional questions, lets you write an answer, shows a preview of a suggested post, and — only if you choose — helps you share that content to Facebook using Facebook’s own sharing tools.
Contact for privacy questions: privacy@questiontimeline.com
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Name or display name you enter for the preview post.
- Your answer to a question on the Service.
- Optional contact details if you email us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate timestamps (for example in server logs).
- Security and diagnostics needed to operate and protect the Service.
Facebook / Meta
If you choose to share to Facebook, Facebook (Meta Platforms, Inc. and its affiliates) will process information according to Facebook’s own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your Facebook password. Depending on how sharing is implemented, we may use a Facebook App ID and Facebook’s Share dialog or related APIs. We do not post to your Facebook profile or Page unless you explicitly confirm the share in Facebook’s interface (or another clear authorisation step we show you).
3. How we use information
- To show question previews and generate the text you asked us to prepare.
- To enable sharing to Facebook when you request it.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- To respond to support or privacy requests.
- To comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If UK/EU data protection law applies, we process personal data on these bases as relevant:
- Consent — for optional sharing and any non-essential cookies/trackers we may add later.
- Legitimate interests — to run a secure, reliable Service and prevent abuse.
- Contract — to provide the Service you request.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep or disclose information by law.
5. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Meta / Facebook, when you initiate a share or otherwise connect through Facebook features.
- Service providers that host or operate infrastructure for us (for example server hosting), under appropriate agreements.
- Authorities, if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.
We do not share your answers publicly on our own site unless a future feature clearly asks you to publish there.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The Service may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed for security and basic operation. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent.
7. Data retention
Preview answers submitted in forms are processed to show your preview and are not intended as a permanent public archive. Server logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, operations, and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymised. If we later add accounts or saved answers, we will state retention periods for those features here.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information (including HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. International transfers
Our hosting and providers may process data in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, or other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the applicable digital-consent age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO)
To exercise these rights, email privacy@questiontimeline.com.
12. Facebook Platform compliance
If you use Facebook Login or other Facebook Platform products with Question Timeline, we will only use data received from Facebook in accordance with Meta’s Platform Terms and this policy, and we will provide a way to request deletion of that data. You can also manage Facebook permissions in your Facebook settings.

Data deletion requests related to Facebook Platform data can also be emailed to privacy@questiontimeline.com.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
